Teenagers need all the help they can get to be safe on the road when they turn 16. And, yes, they need to put down their iPhones, lip gloss and tacos and pay attention. The accident rate for teens is serious business – it’s the number one cause of death for 15-24-year-olds. And if they’re lucky, they can learn how to be safe drivers behind the wheel of a Mercedes Benz. NBC LA has this story on the Mercedes Benz driving academy, where parents and teens are coached on good driving habits. According to the article:
The curriculum, based on research by experts in Europe and North America, is built around the “driver coach” methodology — instead of telling the teen driver what to do, a coach might let the teen come to a conclusion, then discuss that decision.
Good stuff if you can afford the $790-1300 classes.
