How does architecture define our community?

“Los Angeles is home to architecture that’s wacky and wonderful, artful and edgy.” That understatement comes from website of the second district county supervisor, Mark Ridley-Thomas.

If you’re an architecture geek like me, but all you know about South Central is Watts Towers and Randy’s Donuts, you need to check out this multimedia  slide show posted on Ridley-Thomas’ site. I’d also suggest getting out from behind the computer and visiting the treasures, like this one, the William Clark Library, on Cimarron Street.  It’s affiliated with UCLA, but closer to USC… and it’s known for his collection on Oscar Wilde.

The website is part of Ridly-Thomas’ efforts to preserve architectural treasures in unincorporated parts of the city. If you can’t get out in person, arm chair travel by clicking here.
