No-Burn alert through Wednesday

fireplaceIt may be the chilly month of January, but air quality monitors are asking residents not to start fires in their wood-burning fireplaces.

There’s a ‘No-Burn Alert’ in effect for tomorrow in parts of L.A. and Orange Counties because of unhealthy air quality in the region.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District says fireplace owners should refrain from burning wood from midnight tonight through midnight tomorrow night.

The affected area stretches from Marina del Rey on the north to Laguna Niguel on the south, to Anaheim Hills on the east.

Go here to enter your ZIP code after midnight tonight to see if you live in the affected areas.
