The Los Angeles mayoral primary is two weeks from Tuesday, and the campaigns of the five main candidates are reaching for as many votes as they can. Vying to replace Antonio Villaraigosa, who’s termed out of office.

Gene Maddaus reports for LA Weekly, and Mary Melton is editor-in-chief of Los Angeles magazine. They join KCRW’s Steve Chiotakis for our weekly Friday Mixer.

They discussed IBEW Local 18’s support of Wendy Greuel’s campaign, former mayor Richard Riordan endorsing Republican Kevin James, and Eric Garcetti’s efforts to woo Latino voters.
