The five leading Los Angeles mayoral candidates met for a debate on Sunday morning in Hancock Park. Moderating the town hall debate was none other than Kevin Roderick, editor of LA Observed, who joins KCRW’s Steve Chiotakis with the latest on the campaign.
One question Kevin asked, and that got picked up today in the L.A. Times, was about their plans for Getty House — the official city residence.
Another issue was Wendy Greuel’s plan to expand the ranks of police offices and firefighters. Seems like it’d be a popular suggestion, but she’s getting criticized broadly on it.
And at a debate Saturday at Crenshaw High School, four of the top candidates for mayor called for an investigation of the allegations of LAPD racism made by Christopher Dorner, the ex-cop accused of three murders and now on the run.
