Ticket scalping moves out of the shadows

Ticket scalping – where people hang out outside a show to sell last-minute tickets at often outrageous prices – has long been a problem for the big ticket sellers. Now, they’re getting in on the act.

Ticketmaster and Live Nation, which merged in 2010, have rolled out a marketplace called TM+, allowing scalpers to sell tickets through Ticketmaster’s site.

Hannah Karp has been covering it for the Wall Street Journal and joins KCRW’s Steve Chiotakis to discuss.
