Eeek Ticket! Disneyland flirting with $100 entry

The Walt Disney Co. has raised ticket prices to Disneyland, Walt Disney World and the rest of its theme parks. The new prices went into effect yesterday.

Single-day tickets to Disneyland and California Adventure in Anaheim are now $99 for anyone 10 or older. The price for younger children is $93. Tack on another 56 bucks for park hopper ticket. Premium season passes, meanwhile, have gone up to $779, from $699. It could be worse, though: tickets at Disneyworld in Orlando are now $105.Disneylandtix

Disney has raised theme park prices several times in recent years – but  the moves aren’t thinning crowds or hurting the company’s bottom line. In its quarterly earnings report released earlier this month, Disney said revenue from theme parks had jumped nine percent over the previous year amid record attendance, to nearly $4 billion. That was in spite of a measles outbreak that started at Disneyland and may have frightened some potential customers away.

The average cost for a family of four to attend Disneyland is now…well a whole lot of money.
