Rep. Adam Schiff responds to Trump’s cabinet picks

President-elect Donald Trump’s choice of candidates for his incoming administration is raising consternation among some lawmakers. Reports surfaced last week that former US military intelligence Chief Michael Flynn would be tapped to fill the role of National Security Advisor. Flynn was fired from the Obama White House.

Representative Adam Schiff, (D-Burbank) the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, says Flynn isn’t a good choice, “This is someone who, within the intelligence community, was known as kind of a bull in a China shop.  Someone who didn’t work well with others. He doesn’t seem to be able to distinguish between the perversion of Islam by groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS and the religion of Islam, altogether.”

Rep. Schiff spoke to KCRW’s Steve Chiotakis about some of Trump’s other choices including Kansas Congressman Mike Pompeo to head the CIA and Steve Bannon as Chief White House Strategist.
